And since this comedic murder mystery is set in the present day, you'll have no way of knowing whether someone at your table is just another guest or one of the talented cast of improvisers. In fact, everyone's a suspect ... including you! The event starts out with a reception featuring passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by the meal, which includes salad, choice of entree and dessert. Between courses you can expect plenty of murder, mayhem and hidden clues coming to light as you puzzle through the crime. The top sleuth even wins a prize package at the end of the evening -- not to mention serious bragging rights.

Edible Excursions is at it again, creating another delectable culinary walking tour of North Oakland's culturally diverse Temescal community, famed for its cool vibe and innovative craft beer and food offerings. You'll hit several different neighborhood establishments, sampling two-to-four brews at each from a variety of Pilsners, Saisons, Kolsches, Dubbels, and IPAs. The tour also features dish pairings like charcuterie, gourmet popcorn and even a craft root-beer float. You'll have the chance to purchase whatever you'd like throughout this shopping tour, which takes you to Mara's Italian Pastries, Liguria Bakery, Molinari Deli and beyond. Each tour ends with a picnic lunch made up of the delicious treats you've purchased along the way. Chef Joseph began his culinary career at San Francisco's legendary Salmagundi. He was also the food critic at the Orange County and Long Beach Blade and IN Los Angeles magazines, has written food articles for magazines, worked as a caterer, taught cooking classes and is working on a book titled Created in California: The Golden State's Gifts to Gastronomy.
